DARE TO DREAM was awesome! It had laughter, drama, suspense, and heartrending emotion. The heat build-up was smooth and even for both characters; the climax of finally culminating the attraction was worth the journey and wait. The ending was sweet! A book I recommend for a couple of hours well-spent!

It takes a lot for a newly published author to grab my attention. Ms. Vaughan succeeded.
Dare to Dream is a time travel tale with fresh characters and a couple of nicely written plot twists. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more of this author's work.

Characters are very well developed. After the first few chapters you are really invested in what happens to each character. You can't wait to find out what happens next and are never disappointed.

Beverly Miller is down on her luck, down on her money, and down on herself. After getting out of an unemotional and dreadful marriage of twenty-five years, she is determined to never be dependent on a man again. She has enough pride to fill the Grand Canyon and refuses to accept a hand-out, hand-up or charity from anyone. She works hard to take care of herself, 10 dogs, 2 horses and a house that's falling apart all around them all. When the heat goes out, a friend recommends a handyman.

When Beverly met Chad, the last thing she was looking for was another man in her life. But she could not deny how he made her body react and her heart race. But could she trust another man with her heart after a wasted marriage. Chad, having lost his wife a few years earlier, was just starting to emerge from his shell. He remembered Beverly from a party their mutual friend had thrown a year ago. She sparked his interest then and in seeing her again, the spark was still there. Now he just have to get pass her pride, show her all men are not lazy and good-for-nothing, keep her house from falling apart, the animals together and save her from her lunatic ex-husband. But he is Mr. Fix-it and he is up for the challenge.

It's always a good story when love triumphs. Divorce has become more and more commonplace in our society and many families have experienced it. It is never good and when one partner is not willing to let go, it can be worst. It was good to see a man stand by his woman through the ugliness of a jealous ex-husband most would walk away and not get involved. The hero not only fixed her home, the dogs, the horses, but also the hidden sensuality and confidence she had missed for so long. Make me want to look in my newspaper for a Mr. Fix-it, or at least place an ad, (smile.)

Beverly Miller is a forty-three year old divorcee who is struggling to make it on her own and take care of her menagerie of animals.   She spent the last 25 years married to a no good no account man who caused her to give up her life’s ambitions and take care of him.  She had finally had it and kicked him to the curb.  Bev doesn’t make a lot of money working at the library, and she is in need of assistance, but Bev has a lot of pride and won’t ask for a hand out let alone a hand-up.

Widower Chad Brewster is the owner and operator of Rent-a-Husband and has been called in to assist the lovely Bev.  He remembers her from a party that he had attended and was attracted to her, but at the time, she was still married to a loser.  Chad just wants to take care of Bev, and he has to find a way to work past her pride and help her when her psychotic ex continues to hang around with his diabolical plans for his ex-wife!

Mr. Fix-It was a novel full of many characters and their down home lifestyles.  I couldn’t believe the sickness that came through with the villains of Mr. Fix-It, and I was just glad that Bev had a true hero in Chad.

Mr. Fix-It showed that there is life after divorce and beyond the low self-esteem that the heroine had.  It also revealed that a person could love their deceased loved one and still find room in their heart for another to love.  When my mind wasn’t wandering, I found myself rooting for Chad and Bev’s HEA and the ex’s downfall once his motives and activities were revealed.

I loved this story. I read vampire and shifter books several years ago but, it got to be the same old stuff. I went on to murder mysteries, and love stories.

This is different. It is a love story, a vampire story and something else. It brings to question "Who was the first vampire. Where did he/she come from?" There are layers upon layers. All is not as it seems.

I loved the idea of a tanning salon for vampires. Of course! That is so logical. Why has no one thought of it before. Vampires need some sun too, even if it is artificial. There is nothing worse than a depressed vampire.

I loved Tom, the cowboy, vampire, millionaire, businessman and Raf his gay sidekick. Along the way, in this adventure, you meet some witches, shifters and other strange beings.

Connie, the heroine, has a sense of humor that really appeals to me. She has read about vampires most of her life. So when an opening becomes available at Midnight Sun, Inc. she decides to apply. Connie has a troubled past that gradually becomes clearer as the story progresses. She also has a paraplegic dachshund, Willie, who travels in a sling type cart. He thinks he is a pit bull and he is afraid of nothing, including vampires or trouble makers.

There is sex but it is not over the top, graphic. I believe it is classified as sensual. That would be right on, in my opinion.

This ARC was sent to me for an honest review. Well, here it is. It is well written with very few, if any, errors. I really enjoyed the story of Connie, Tom, Raf and Willie. I hope you do too. There is a small question that is left up to your imagination or a future book I hope.

Oh yes, there is a happy ending, for me, that is a must.

MIDNIGHT SUN, INC. by Debbie Vaughn is a fun read that will keep you fascinated. I give it three stars for its compelling plotline and hope this is only the first book in a series.

MIDNIGHT SUN, INC. tells the tale of how human Connie Bennett and her boss, vampire Tom Thornton, fell in love. The book is set in a world where vampires have come out of the coffin, and legislation and commerce cater to vampires as well as humans. Tom Thornton owns Midnight Sun, a tanning salon that caters to "all persuasions." The night manager, Rafael, is also a vampire, or is he? Connie becomes housemates with Rafael, who it turns out also lives with Tom.

As Connie gets to know Rafael and begins a romantic relationship with Tom, the three of them have to deal with strange events, a dead body in the salon's dumpster, spells on the tanning salon, revelations about Rafael's life, and Connie's odd health issues.

I enjoyed MIDNIGHT SUN, INC. The plotline is interesting and keeps you wondering what could happen next. The narration and dialogue are filled with humor and wit. I found myself laughing out loud several times.

A few issues detracted from my enjoyment of the book. I would have liked the pacing to be better. It seemed a bit off, as there was too much time spent on transitional and background scenes, and too little on the major plot and climactic scenes. The same applies to the development of the romantic relationship between Connie and Tom. That part of the plotline was a bit unbelievable and needed some extra attention.

Given the adult content, this book has a heat level rating of 3, appropriate for those 18 years of age and over.

MIDNIGHT SUN, INC is a fun read, and I highly recommend this book to all who enjoy the paranormal genre.

This was soooo good! I loved the characters. Connie has a delightful sense of humor or maybe it's the author's. It gave me several chuckles.

Okay, it's about a girl who lives in a world (current Arkansas) where vampires are an everyday occurrence.
They're out of the closet. Perhaps, out of the shadows would be a better description. One of the richest, most handsome and sexy vamps is Tom. Tom owns a tanning salon for vampires and humans. Connie goes to work at the salon. Tom's best friend is Raf. He is also a vampire but, of the gay persuasion. Connie, needs a place to live that is closer to work, so she moves in with Tom and Raf.

This is mainly Connie's and Tom's love story. There is some mystery thrown in.
Oh yes, Connie has a disabled wiener dog who is not sure if he likes vampires or not.

This book was fun. I really enjoyed it. I am so glad it has a happy ending.

My Review:
Wow! I really don't know where to begin. Everything about this story was just awesome. Don't let the cover fool you! This story is addicting! I seriously had to lock my kindle in the other room to stop reading while I did my chores... and the entire time I was cleaning I was thinking about the story! Then, as soon as I finished I raced back to my kindle to finish! I couldn't help it!

This story is seriously packin some heat with sexy vamp cowboys! Yes, I'll repeat that slower. Vampire Cowboys... that are steaming-ly sexy... :D

First off, before I really begin, let me just say that I totally want a Raf of my own... and don't want to share him with anyone! He's the perfect best friend/boyfriend, well except he likes other guys... which makes us perfect! We can stare at guys together! *coughs*

Anyways!

This is the first book I've ever read by the author and I was blown away by the original and intense plot line. I have already added the rest of her books to my TBR list on Goodreads.

This book is jam packed with sensual sex, addictive vampire, witches, cats and an adorable dachshund you will fall in love with. This book had me literally turning the pages faster and faster as I read. Wanting... no needing to know what happens next!

This book is so well done with the amount of details that I could see it being the next blockbuster film! The characters are so well done that I could be friends with all of them! I could totally relate to Connie, the author kept it real and didn't sugar coat anything! I don't have even one problem with this highly addictive book!

The author didn't leave anything out of this spectacular book that I highly recommend to anyone and everyone! Fan of vampires or not! Everyone should own this book! What are you waiting for? The links are above! Go!

A cowboy vampire? Who could have ever thought that would work but let me tell you it does. I love cowboys and I love vampires so what more could a girl like me ask for?
Midnight Sun Tanning Salon owner Tom Thornton is everything a girl could want in a vampire—tall, dark, handsome, with a body built for sin, plus cowboy boots and a Texas drawl. Toss in paid vacations and a benefits package and he is the perfect employer. His short, adorable and flamboyantly gay sidekick, Raf, looks like Tony Curtis–channeling Richard Simmons. Connie Bennett is drawn to both—for very different reasons. Everything she thought she knew about vampires, herself and life in general is about to go pear-shaped…but then, no relationship is perfect!
Tom’s salon is oddly enough in Arkansas. Being from the South I find it odd that this story takes place in Arkansas but I would gladly share my hometown with some hot vampires. This is where she meets Raf, a co-worker who offers to let Connie move into his home after finding out she needs a place to live closer to work. The surprise she gets when moving in is that the boss lives there too.
Tom is the ultimate boss turned boyfriend because he’s gorgeous, kind, hard-working, and a cowboy. Raf is a girl’s ultimate best friend and he’s not only hot but he’s also sweet, loving, and loves to shop. When I say I envy Connie, I mean I envy Connie. She has these two gorgeous men who love her and are willing to do anything for her even if it means giving their life and then she has her friends who are willing to do the same. On the flip side of that coin, nothing in Connie’s life turns out to be what she thought it was.
I love this book and can’t wait to read more from this author. This is one book that I could see on the big-screen.
